We must build our faith and exercise it too. So the teachings of faith should be adopted and acted upon as well as the teachings of self responsibility.
Over the years I’ve seen many get wrecked by the Holy Spirit in so many different ways. It never gets old seeing the amazement, awe and joy that people receive when encountering a real God. What I’ve also seen is a lot of one time encounters that people did nothing with.
I have seen people reject the teachings of spiritual responsibility because we’ve adopted what we want to hear. Let me explain I believe in salvation by grace, healing, deliverance, baptism in water, baptism in fire, miracles signs and wonders but i also believe in obedience. Many times we want to hear preachings on the instantaneous works of God wether it would be healing, financial breakthroughs or freedom from anything. What we don’t want to hear is “but you must obey, hear the voice of the father directing you to these things.” We want the preachers to tell us we will be instantly healed (which can absolutely happen!) but many times the Lord wants our obedience to receive our healing (no not by earning it because Jesus already paid the price) it could be something simple as step into the waters, get up take up your mat and walk, go rinse your eyes with water so you may see... so many examples. The whole entire word of God every single story tells of an act of obedience before obtaining what was needed.
We must build our faith and exercise it too. So the teachings of faith should be adopted and acted upon as well as the teachings of self responsibility.
I believe this is the reason why many fall out of love with Jesus because You can’t sustain a fire without logs or fuel. Many are looking for the fire🔥of the Holy Spirit in the outward manifestations but are neglecting the simple, the disciplines, the foundational things that sustain the fire. We want to be prophesied to but do nothing with the word. We experience The Holy Spirit in the altars but don’t know how to live in our daily day lives. I truly believe that the Lord is calling us back to foundations both spiritual and the everyday living. He can not pour the new in vessels that can’t sustain it.
